Obadiah

Obadiah confronts Edom for its pride and for standing aside when Judah fell. The song asks listeners to examine the quiet satisfaction they may feel at another person’s trouble. No high wall can hide cruelty from God, and no one should build security on a neighbor’s ruin. It asks Jesus, the righteous King, to bring pride down and teach a more merciful response.
