We Are the Children of God
Album: You Can Live Forever • About NECM
We Are the Children of God is a joyful declaration of the family God is creating through Jesus Christ. It reminds listeners that the Father loves His children, calls them into His light, and offers eternal life through the sacrifice of His Son. The song encourages gratitude, obedience, prayer, and faithfulness while asking Jesus to protect and guide God’s family. It looks forward to the resurrection and the beautiful moment when God’s faithful children are welcomed home into His everlasting family.
Scriptures Connected to This Song
Short quotations from the public-domain King James Version. Select a reference to read the exact passage in a new tab.
“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
