1 Samuel

First Samuel opens with Hannah’s prayer, then follows Samuel, Saul, and the young David. The song contrasts a king’s outward stature with the heart God sees and remembers David’s patience while he waits for God’s timing. Its prayer is to lay down pride and surrender control. Jesus stands as the faithful King whom no earthly crown can replace.
